Why Should You Support Child Care Aware® of America?

Because 11 million children younger than age five are in some form of child care for an average of 36 hours a day. Child Care is an essential component of daily life for millions of American families, but quality care is expensive. The annual cost of child care for one child is more than the cost of tuition at a four-year, public university!

Studies show that the most important period of a child’s life is from birth to the age of six. The importance of affordable, high-quality child care impacts all of us. Child care helps generate 15 million jobs and more than $500 billion in income annually. Families need child care so they can work or attend school, and children need a safe and nurturing place where they can learn and continue their healthy development.

That’s why your support to Child Care Aware® of America is so important. Your dollars truly make a difference. Your support helps:

  • Empower everyday parents and family caretakers to advocate for positive change in their communities—change that saves the lives of young children.
  • Provide emergency response to child care providers and early education centers in places like North Carolina and Louisiana, during their most challenging times as well as preparing these communities for crisis situations prior to natural and man-made disasters.
  • Offer free webinars to parents and child care providers about topics like the Zika virus, childhood obesity, and child care laws in their state.
  • Educate child care educators and providers through our professional development, and so much more!

Child Care Aware® of America is also a proud to partner with the United States Military and Department of Defense to serve and support over 15,000 families per year through Fee Assistance and Respite Child Care Programs.

Remember, our Child Care Aware® of America CFC number is 12300. Together, we can ensure that every family in America has access to high-quality, affordable child care. We look forward to you joining us in investing in America’s future.

Thank you in advance for your support!
