Dancing the Prep Step for Emergency Preparedness

August 10, 2016

2015 US Programs

September is National Preparedness Month and Child Care of Aware® of America’s Emergency Preparedness Team is gearing up for a fun month! We will be posting a lot of tools, tips, and resources throughout the month of September.

Sadly, less than half of American families have an emergency plan. However, we know that child care providers and children are both powerful agents of change!

Here is one fun way that you and your children can participate in the fun. Our friends over at Save the Children have developed a fun song and dance called "The Prep Step", which teaches children the basics of emergency preparedness while keeping them moving!

Visit SavetheChildren.org/PrepStep and register (it's FREE). Then check out the resources, including the Prep Step Kit, which includes the original music video, an instructional dance video, 30-minute Prep Step Lessons, family and provider resources, and more.

Join us this September as we "Prep Step" our way to a more prepared America! Share your dance moves by using the hashtag #PrepStep.
