Administration Releases New Head Start Performance Standards

September 07, 2016

obama_debt_bill_signing_080211_1The Obama Administration released the long-anticipated Head Start Performance Standards late last week. The new rule allows for greater flexibility at the local level and puts great emphasis on family engagement.

The final rule will go into effect on November 7, 2016, however it does allow grantees more time to comply with the new regulations. For example, grantees must be compliant with the new curricula for center-based and family child care programs by August 1, 2017.

Stay tuned for more details. You can view the final rule here.
