"Dr. Edward Zigler, recognized as the 'Father of Head Start,' passed away Thursday, February 7, at the age of 88. Child Care Aware® of America is saddened by this news but grateful for Dr. Zigler’s groundbreaking contributions to the field of early childhood development and child psychology," said Michelle McCready, deputy executive director at CCAoA. "His work has impacted millions of families and his legacy continues through our work every day."
