Health Resource Spotlight: Resources for Child Care Providers to Make Healthy Choices

December 12, 2018

The Problem:

Child care providers care for and promote the health and wellness of our nation’s children but struggle to make healthy choices for themselves.

One Solution:

The Move Your Way campaign, which provides information and strategies for meeting the updated Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans  With all the fitness fads and conflicting health advice out there, it can be hard to capture people’s attention with the physical activity messages that matter. Move Your Way can help CCR&Rs support providers to improve their health and well-being.

  • 150 minutes/week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity such as brisk walking or dancing
  • Muscle-strengthening activity, like lifting weights or doing push-ups, two days/week.

might not think they have the time to meet the recommended 150 minutes. However, R&Rs can use the Move Your Way resources online and in trainings to help them providers identify the opportunities they have during their day to engage in physical activity. The resources include fact sheets, posters, videos and interactive tools.

Move Your Way was developed by the federal Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
