# How to Use AmazonSmile to Support CCAoA [2022]

This year, [Amazon Prime Day ](https://smile.amazon.com/primeday)is July 12-13. Before you take advantage of the sales, be sure to set Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) as your preferred charity in AmazonSmile.

 

### What is AmazonSmile?

Amazon makes a donation to nonprofits like Child Care Aware® of America every time shoppers purchase from [AmazonSmile](https://smile.amazon.com/gp/chpf/homepage/ref=smi_chpf_redirect?ie=UTF8&ein=94-3060756&ref_=smi_ext_ch_94-3060756_cl). AmazonSmile is the same as Amazon.com—same products, same prices, same service. AND you get to help our cause at no cost to you! When shoppers use the AmazonSmile link to shop from, Amazon then donates 0.5% of eligible products' prices to the organization of your choice.

Be sure to visit AmazonSmile and make a purchase on Amazon Prime Day, or any day, to support our work. When you donate to Child Care Aware® of America, your money goes toward advancing comprehensive and inclusive policies, practices, research and solutions for child care. Your contributions will help transform child care infrastructure by centering the system around the lived experiences and needs of children, families and their communities.

Child care providers and CCR&Rs can also participate in AmazonSmile. To accept donations, your organization must be in the United States or US territories, a 501(c)3 and be in good standing with the IRS. ### What is Prime Day?

Each year, Amazon sets more than 100,000 deals exclusively for Amazon Prime members. You can think of Prime Day like Black Friday, but exclusive to Amazon. If you plan on taking advantage of any of the thousands of discounts this week (July 12-13, 2022), we hope you'll set CCAoA as your preferred organization in AmazonSmile before you checkout. Below are instructions on how to support us on Prime Day—and any other time you're purchasing from Amazon.

 

### **4 Steps to Start Supporting Child Care Aware® of America on AmazonSmile**

2. Bookmark [smile.amazon.com](https://smile.amazon.com/) as your preferred link to shop on Amazon. Always check that the URL says *smile.amazon.com* rather than just amazon.com.
3. Each time you shop at smile.amazon.com, Amazon automatically donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to CCAoA.
4. Sit back and celebrate your generosity.
