ARLINGTON, VA, December 13, 2022 – Michelle McCready was named Interim Chief Executive Officer of Child Care Aware® of America by the CCAoA Board of Directors effective January 12, 2023. CCAoA CEO Dr. Lynette M. Fraga announced in August that she is stepping down effective January 11, 2023.
McCready has served as CCAoA’s Deputy Executive Officer since 2018. Prior to that role, she spent more than a decade in executive leadership positions at CCAoA and working with Congress. She has a deep background in organizational management and is one of the nation’s leading experts in child care policy. The CCAoA Board of Directors is excited that McCready has agreed to serve in this capacity and is confident that she is the right person to lead the organization as it conducts a national search for a new CEO.
“I am deeply committed to the mission and vision of Child Care Aware of America, and look forward to working with CCAoA's talented Board, staff and members across the nation,” said McCready. “Together, we will continue our momentum to ensure communities have equitable access to quality, affordable child care. Our work touches people of all backgrounds in so many communities and our ability to live out our mission remains on track.”
