Child Care Aware® of America is pleased to award 11 Child Care Resource & Referral member agencies COVID-19 Quick Response Grants. The grants were made possible through generous financial support from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP). Funds received from CDP will allow CCAoA to rapidly support CCR&Rs by offering subgrants for the purchase of supplies or enhanced services supports for childcare providers in areas of the U.S. in need and to provide direct aid to those geographic areas entering phased recovery.
The organizations funded will assist child care providers in need in the following states: California, Oregon, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Arkansas and Wisconsin.
More than 70 applications were received from CCR&R organizations across the country, whose communities have been significantly impacted by the pandemic. The stories were compelling and included requests for PPE, cleaning supplies, resources to address the social/emotional needs of children and caregivers and training and technical assistance to help child care providers implement new health and safety standards and focus on business stability.
