CCHCs are health professionals who also are knowledgeable about child health, child development and health and safety in child care. But their training may not have equipped them with some skills (e.g., communicating effectively with programs) that are essential to their work.
The learning activities contain realistic scenarios to help CCHCs better understand the early care and education environment and practice skills. Each takes 15-30 minutes to complete, including a review of the reflective feedback offered. The modules can be done in any order, although the developers suggest doing Build Trust with Programs last. It’s a culmination of the skills developed in the other activities.
The Child Care Health Consultation: Skill Building Modules live on the Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center (ECLKC) website.
