Child care and other early care and education (ECE) providers are important partners in promoting the health of children and families. This presentation will emphasize their role in public health and highlight pathways through which ECE providers can promote health and wellness and prevent negative health outcomes.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers resources for childcare providers to promote health and development of children and families. Participants will receive an overview of resources with a focus on obesity prevention, physical activity, and child development that they can bring to their programs and share with families.
After this session, participants will better understand the important role of ECEs in promoting health and wellness of children and families, understand public health pathways through which ECE can promote health and wellness, and have an increase awareness of resources from CDC for ECE.
